This is a large compass I made for one of the grandfathers in the sand sculpting
business. He took me to Taiwan three times for work and he admired my similar
but simpler compass. So I made this for him in exchange for some hard-to-find
1 foot long levels. The compass is about 22 inches long.

The dragon's face was copied from sand sculpted dragon that was done by one of the
Taiwanese during our last trip there. The wood is mahogany.

The ball in the mouth is from Taiwan folk lore where the dragon is
always chasing it.
