Here is a carved wood spirit in Cedar wood. It is 18 inches high, 6 inches wide and
sticks out from the wall 4 inches. The leaves above the face was an idea I got from
one of our carving group members, Maureen Willey, who did something similar
with a wood spirit she carved in butternut wood. It's a nice touch. Thanks, Mo.

You can see the nice colors in the wood. The light yellow color is the sap wood in the
tree and I used it to give the eyebrows the light color highlight. The cedar wood
itself is a nice reddish color that will eventually oxidize to a deeper red color.

The wood colors add a nice detail and highlight lines and features on the face.

The carving hangs by a recessed picture hanger. I also put a pocket in the back
for a secret stash. The pocket is 3 1/4 inches wide, 1 inch thick, and 1/2
inch deep. No one will know what you stash there.
